Having trouble making reservations for the Borghese Gallery. We have tried 6 times to go through the instructions on www.galleriaborghese.it. When we enter in all the information our credit card is denied. We have checked with our credit card company and they say the card is good and don't show any denials. Anyone have any suggestions?

My wife and I just booked our tickets for Galleria Borghese online (using an iPad) and paid using AMEX. We had no issues whatsoever. I would recommend trying a different CC provider (e.g. MasterCard, VISA, or AMEX) maybe.

I would also try a different browser to see if that helps. If that doesn't work I would call them to make the booking. Be sure to call during Italian business hours.

Definitely get reservations by phone or online. We failed to do so. We took a chance and went first thing in the morning and lined up for a cancellation. We managed to buy tickets for a mid-afternoon admission last May. This was pure luck.

PayPal.
I'm not sure if it was Borghese or the Vatican Scavi tour that presented an issue with our main travel CC. But, after two attempts with the CC and two denials I just used the PayPal account associated with the CC and the transaction went through immediately
It is super easy to set up a PayPal account if you don't already have one.

Thanks to all who have replied with information. Even with different Credit Cards and using a different browser I was unable to get through online. We called this morning and made reservations. (011 39 06 32810) You have to listen to some Italian before you get to an English operator. We are good to go!
