Borghese Gallery (not the Gardens) Tickets

I know this sounds crazy but I can't find an official website for the Borghese Gallery museum to buy tickets (skip the line). The website in Rick's Italy 2017 book lists www.tosc.it However, there is no English language option for that website. I know about Viator but that is not what we want. Can anyone help me?

We bought our tickets for the Borghese Gallery at https://www.tosc.it. Click on "Museo e Galleria Borghese" and then in the right side navigation, scroll down to the bottom and you'll see a link to change the language to English.

And I am sure you know that these aren’t technically “skip the line” tickets. Everyone has to buy tickets in advance for a two hour block of time. You will still line up for security when it’s time for your entry. You aren’t allowed to take purses and bags into the museum; they will need to be checked ahead of time. Make sure you allow time for that as those checking bags and those retrieving bags overlap.

We just went to the Borghese Gallery three weeks ago and three of us were allowed in with small purses worn crossbody. No check and retrieval time needed if purse is small, flat and worn crossbody.

First off, there is no such thing as "skip the line" tickets to this museum as ticket sales are tightly controlled: only so many are available for purchase for each time slot. This is the "official" website:

https://www.tosc.it/tickets.html

If this link comes up in Italian, there is a dropdown under "Menu" in the "Select language" in the lower right corner of the page for English. No, do not purchase under Viator.

Note that you will have to stand in line when you get there. Best to plan to arrive 60 minutes in advance. First you line up to exchange your voucher for real tickets. Then you stand in line to check bags (small ones are now permitted, no backpacks though, even if they are small). Then you stand in line to get an audio guide (optional, but good). Then you stand in line to enter the galleries. The entrance is through through double doors and up a winding staircase (maybe two abreast). Two hundred people are admitted. The closer you are to the front of that line, the more time you'll have in the galleries. Since there are two of you, you can split up. Checking and picking up tickets can be simultaneous, I don't remember if you need to show your tickets to get the audio guide, probably not, and one of you can get into the gallery entrance line. You may also want to visit the loo before you go in. There are toilets inside, but do you want to waste the time?

My browser is Google Chrome. If the website is only in a foreign language, a right click gives me a menu with a "translate to English" option that usually works well.

Thank you everyone for your help. I'm still not able to buy tickets online and not able to buy the audio guide and not able to request printing my voucher. I e-mailed the company. I even changed browsers and it didn't work. I've never had so much trouble ordering tickets before. Shall I just wait in line and get there early?

Maybe try to call the Gallery and see if they can help you. I was able to get the tickets to go through earlier this year online but I think I had to use a different credit card because my first one didn't go through. They only have limited tickets for each day and I think you might be chancing it too much to wait until you are in Rome and go that day. It really is a spectacular museum.

I encountered problems ordering tickets through the tosc.it as well. After it declined my credit card several times (on different days), I decided to use PayPal and it worked. Then I printed the confirmation screen that included the order number. It stated that a confirmation email will be sent and it must be printed in order to collect the actual tickets. I received the confirmation email 48 hours later. While it has a few quirks, the site works.

Hi Debbie, I just bought tickets last week for October 20th. The only problem I had was with Verified by Visa. After several attempts with different browsers, I called Bank of America and they put me through to the verified by visa department. Even though I never received a message stating there was an issue, they had to make some adjustment and told me to try the purchase again while I was on the phone with them. Worked like a charm this time. I got my confirmation email with an hour with my order number and instructions to get the tickets. I had this problem with Verified by Visa a month or so ago while buying tickets for the Uffizi, that’s why I called BoA. Good luck.

You don't have to order the audio guide in advance. You just wait in line - probably not more than a few minutes - to rent one on the spot. You'll have to stand in line anyway to pick it up.
