I am trying to book tickets for the Borghese on September 12, but I can't seem to access the Gallery's ticket website, and one travel ticket site says that they aren't for sale as of yet. As I have discovered that tickets to the popular sites in Rome have to be purchased as early as possible, I am concerned about getting shut out from it. Please help.

There does seem to be any tickets available from September 9-13…can you go on any other day where there is still availability?
I could go on the 14th or 15th, but both days say unavailable when you look at all of the times. It seems strange to me that a museum, even a great one, would book up so far in advance. Do the travel websites that charge a premium for the museum have access so that I can see it on what will probably be my only time in Rome?
I just checked…you are correct…only children’s tickets remain for the 14th and 15th.
The Borghese Gallery is very popular and limits the number of people allowed in at any one time. Unfortunately you needed to be looking for tickets several weeks ago when the September tickets were first listed for sale.
I have never bought tickets from a 3rd party site for the Gallery…hopefully someone else will know if there is a reputable company that would have tickets for your dates.
Thank you. I spent some time looking at various sites, and was able to find one slot on the 12th with The Roman Guy. The cost is a fair amount more than I had anticipated, but as I said, it may be my only opportunity to go there.
I am glad you found a slot…hopefully you will find that it will be worth the extra $!
I also used a third-party (Get Your Guide) to purchase Borghese tickets, but was just informed that our tickets were cancelled as there is a demonstration/protest? happening that day. Disappointed!
What day is that, kap?
It was for September 22. Update: Following that message, I tried again on the official Borghese website and was able to get two tickets for an Italian language tour. We don't speak Italian, but plan to get the audio guide when we get there, or if that's not available we'll just follow the group around and hopefully still enjoy the art! It didn't really occur to me until just now that if there is really a political event happening, wouldn't we have been unable to purchase tickets via the website? Maybe the third-party seller was just making that up?? I messaged their customer service to confirm that they will be open that day, and am waiting to hear back. At least the official tickets were cheaper than the third-party, so there's that!

Have to say I've got my suspicions. I'm not seeing any alerts out there for that date, and we all know that 3rd parties can cancel when they haven't been able to snag tickets themselves. Whether yours gave you a fabricated excuse for that reason I can only guess but if the museum itself is still selling tickets for that date, there isn't a planned protest of big enough concern to shut it down.
I remember getting up at 3:00 in the morning about 60 days ahead of my dates to secure my Borghese Gallery tickets in 2018. Ten days ahead isn't very far in advance.
Some of the artwork from the Borghese will be in Paris next week. I have my ticket in hand to see it again.
Jvanbeek…I just checked again and it seems like there are numerous time slots that have just opened up on both September 14th and 15th!! Please check and see if any of these times work for you. If so, can you cancel the tour you already booked?
Something to keep in mind…even if days look like they are sold out, it pays to keep checking to see if time slots open up.
Alternatively, if you are unable to get tickets in advance there is a line for people without tickets and the first 13 (or so) are admitted for each time slot. I sat and watched the line for about 8 hours one day this summer (don't ask) and it seemed that all who were waiting got in--often there were more than 13 admitted.
Can someone please clarify which is the "official" website for the Borghese Gallery?
I've looked online and can't tell if what I've encountered is a 3rd party resale site or the actual official website:
galleriaborghese.beniculturali.it Regardless... I repeatedly receive a message indicating that the site can't be reached.
Also I see that there are tickets on another website for both the Borghese Gallery and Gardens. Any tips on whether this is a good idea?
Thanks,
WL
