I just reserved tickets to the Borghese and found: From March 19th to June the cost of the ticket will be reduced as it will not be possible to access the second floor of the museum for important works.
So, no Titian, Raffaello, or Domenchino along with many other works.
That really is a shame considering how spectacular the artwork on the second floor is. How much are they reducing the ticket prices? And will they reduce the number of people for each time slot?
My wife and I were at the Borghese last October and my wife, who does not love art and sculpture as much as I do, said the Gallery was her favorite part of our VFR Tour. I’m glad we were able to see everything on view.
I believe the ticket is reduced by 2 euros as best as I can decipher (from 15 to 13). I do not know if the number to patrons will be reduced.
According to this article, it appears that the paintings will be displayed at the Palazzo Barberini during the renovations.
Whew! What a great idea. I'm glad they were able to work something out so that those works can still be viewed.
