How about the Borghese itself? I've never read that their own guides aren't up to snuff:

http://galleriaborghese.beniculturali.it/en/visita/visit-the-galleria-borghese

Also from the official ticketing site:
https://www.tosc.it/tickets.html

"Guided tour, lasting about one hour and half, are available in Italian and English:
From Tuesday to Saturday
English: 9:10 am - 11:10 am
Italian: 11:10 am - 3:10 pm - 5:10 pm
Sunday and Holidays
English: 9:10 am 11:10 am
Italian: 9:10 am - 11:10 am - 1:10 pm - 3:10 pm - 5:10 pm
On some days there are also English Guided Tour at 1.10 pm"

You purchase your tour right from the ticketing site: € 26.50 per adult.

Editing to add: I am assuming you are asking about an escorted tour? We did our own visit with a printed guidebook so that's possible too, and some folks do it with an audioguide. I'm not exactly sure what sort of "visit" you have in mind.

You really don't need a tour company for the Borghese. However, you do need a reservation. They have timed entries and you are only allowed two hours in the gallery, which is sufficient. You can rent an excellent audio guide from them and then meander through the Borghese at your own pace. It is not too large so it is easy to navigate on your own and with the timed entries limiting visitors the crowds are manageable too. If it seems crowded then go to the second floor first after you enter. The Borghese is our favorite and we have visited on both of our visits to Rome. We are returning to Rome next Spring and plan to visit again. Enjoy strolling through the Borghese park too!

I would actually prefer to book it myself and tour it myself but when I go to their site it doesn’t show anything past June. I want to go on July 6 (only free afternoon on the visit to Rome with a Rick Steves tour

I have been there on my past visits (2) but have never had a problem booking ahead. However, I have never been in the summer when so many do. This time I am traveling with my daughter who is a teacher.

Ina, I think it's just too early for July tickets to be on sale yet. Right now the website is only selling tickets 2 months or so in advance, which is pretty normal. I would start looking for early July tickets to become available around May 6th or so. Start checking this Sunday and into next week; they should show up soon!

Thanks. I guess I was just getting in too much of a hurry because of crowds then and not wanting to miss sharing it with my daughter. I will keep checking......

We booked directly with the gallery on their website and got the audio system as well. Following Rick's advice, we started on the top floor and were able to avoid being in a big crowd. Get there early enough to check your bags and coats.

Great, Laura, thanks for letting Ina know!

They haven't stuck to any sort of exact schedule so it's tough to pinpoint ticket releases. Yesterday it was a little less than 60 days; today quite a lot more than. 2 months/60 days has sort of been the estimate in the past.

To be honest I've been checking almost daily for about a month.

I did the same thing with the Doge's Palace Secret Itineraries Tour.
