Does anyone know what the current rules are for what size bag is allowed in the Borghese Museum and can you bring your DSLR camera? I've found conflicting information on-line, and I don't want to check bags or our cameras. Thank you.

You must check your bags, but they will give you a clear plastic for wallets or other essentials. I wore my camera around my neck and did not take the carrying case.

The website says this:
"For security reasons, medium and large bags, shoppers, backpacks and baggages cannot be brought into the museum. Only small fanny packs and purse no larger than 21 x 15 cm are allowed to enter. Visitors are kindly requested to leave not allowed bags in the wardrobe."
Expect them to be more strict about bag size than not. What one staff member might allow in, another might not.

Also keep in mind to allow plenty of time to check your bags. The lines were extremely long and we barely made our reservation time.
