I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the boot side of Italy Above the town of Lecc. It looks like some beach front hotels. Is it nice. I'm going to Italy in Sept.
Boot side? I thought the whole country was the boot.
Do you mean the heel of the boot? That's Appulia and it's where Lecce is. It's not traveled by Americans as much as other parts of Italy.
I have driven (single female) from Foggia to Lecce with much meandering over the course of 5 georgeous days. If you want to see the castles in particular, as well as the usual churches for the art, the cave areas, the sheer oldness of it all, and of course Alborobella, hiring a car is the best option. If it is more of a beach to relax on, I suggest the Gargano peninsula.
