Booking Tours in Florence

We will be in Florence for several days mid October. While we know what tours/excursions we are interested in, would like to wait until we arrive to book giving us flexibility based on weather. Of course this involves visiting the Uffizi and the David. Do you think there will be a problem with availabilities of these tours or should we chance it and book now? Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated!
On another note, my husband unfortunately is unable to tolerate alcohol, we were pleasantly surprised in Spain, they had non-alcohol beer on tap, does anyone know if this is common in Italy?
Thanks

I just came back from Italy and we also stayed in Florence overnight and did one tour with Walk of Italy. The tour was amazing and the next morning when we went out very early to get a coffee we saw someone lined up hours ahead of opening. The time wasted standing there is not worth it. Once we passed the line after we had gotten a coffee the lines were very long. Good luck and enjoy your trip. Florence was one of our highlights, we loved it. We also had an amazing lunch hat Rick Steves had recommended. We ate the Florentine steak and the food was out of this world. You can find his video on you tube under the Florence tours.

TA, which specific tours - meaning operators - are you interested in? Or did you not have a specific one in mind? Whether to book now or chance it later may depend on who you want to use.

I can recommend Walkabout Florence. We used them for the Best of Tuscany tour, but they have others, including ones right in town. Be sure to scroll down the linked page to see all the options.

I don't drink alcohol either, but there were plenty of non-alcoholic drinks available on our day tour, even at the vineyard where we had lunch. When in Europe, I mostly drink sparkling water. There seems to be an endless supply.

Thank you for the information regarding tours. Rather be safe than sorry and waste time while in Florence, will definitely book our tour prior to leaving.
The information on non-alcoholic drinks is very helpful!
