I am travelling to Italy in August (for the first time)and would like to have an afternoon tour of the main places in Florence (Duomo, Art Gallery, etc) and can only seem to find morning or full day tours to book in advance. Can anyone let me know if it is easy to book tours while there? flexible afternoon ones that include skip the line access to main sites? Check with the front desk at your hotel. they should be able to book a skip the line reservation for you.... Or, go to the site and see if you book in advance for the next afternoon.

You could check out www.florencepass.com I did a 1/2 day tour with them which included the duomo, uffizi and the vasari corridor. They might be able to accommodate your schedule.
