Booking tour Colosseum Rome

I bought RS's guide and there's a link for coopculture.it to order tickets. However I cannot find anywhere to purchase them. I did find another site colosseo.it that does appears to be legit (also his link on this site to coopculture appears broken). Are tickets now through colosseo.it? It won't let me book anything - can this only be done one month ahead? Thanks all.

Hi Christine, welcome to the forum!
Coopculture isn't the ticketing vendor anymore. This is what you want.:

https://ticketing.colosseo.it/en/

Some tickets/tours are available to book 30 days in advance and some, such as the night tour, are only sold 7 days in advance. Tickets which include the underground normally sell out very, very quickly: they can be the most difficult tickets to reserve.

This is also an official website for the Colosseum and related attractions (Forum, Palatine, etc.) It's a good informational reference but is only "up" during the hours, Rome time, those attractions are open. The ticketing portal, linked above, is open 24/7.

Editing to add: This is a very good example why not to rely on a guidebook, any guidebook, for current visiting information. It's not Rick's fault 'cause the guidebook you have went to press BEFORE the change of ticketing vendor. That kind of thing can happen on a dime! So, for most current hours, fees, pre-announced closures and other information of the sort, best to reference the individual websites for the attractions themselves. Make sense? :O)

As you have an RS guidebook, you can also reference this section of this website for updates occurring after publication.
