Booking tickets to The Last Supper on-line

Has anyone booked tickets on-line to "The Last Supper" in Milan? I went to the site per Rick's advice but I couldn't figure out how to navigate. I went to the book tickets tab and brought up the date I wanted but I couldn't figure out how to proceed from there. Any suggestions?

Anne, I know what site you are using. I tried so much that I figured out some things. It really does not offer things because it sells out instantly. I think it sells out to the resellers!!!. So, I checked every day and the very morning Rick's site opened more dates in early June I tried to reserve, but they were already booked. I immediately went to the tickitaly website which is occasionally recommended in Rick's Italy books. This site is only slightly confusing. What you end up with is about 4 email or website exchanges. The first, essentialy, is to submit your request for a date/time or combination, then they acknowledge your request, then IF they can get your choice, then and only then do you get a confirmation and voucher. Anyway, I immediately attempted to book for the desired date, and about 3-6 days later I got a confirmation. We will report back to all about June 8 to let you know if our vouchers were honored. I tried many times to get through the on-line ticket site but after several messages that they were no longer taking reservations I just called the hotel in Milan were I am staying and they made the reservation for me at the time and date I wanted. I have an e-mail confirmation from the hotel. Good luck.

Gordon, I went through the reseller before I booked hotel. Perhaps I should have booked hotel based on their ability to get tickets!

Last year (April) I did not have a succesful booking using the online system. I had what I thought was a reservation number, but upon arrival at the ticket office discovered it was not valid. Very sad (but I have a nice photo of the entrance as a souviner). I'd suggest trying a third party vendor or your hotel.

We had a similar problem as listed - we thought we had a confirmation number only to be turned away at the door.

It sold out very quickly also within 1 day of checking the whole next month was marked sold.

CL and DD, did your failures result by using the museum's own website that Rick suggested, or, from the third party tickitaly source?

The website Rick recommended is where it said I had confirmation - I also tried an outside vendor once we got turned away and had no luck.

Rick's suggested website is directly to the museum - but they're sold out for the dates we want (June 13th or June 14th). Has anyone successfully used a 3rd party online booking site? Can you pass on a website?

I successfully booked direct with 2 months advance notice.
Go to the official website at:
http://www.cenacolovinciano.org/english/index.html

and instead of using the online service, call the nice ladies at the phone number listed at the bottom of the page. No problems and an experience that takes your breath away.

My issue was the museum's website. Didn't try a third party vendor as by the time I found out my reservation wasn't valid, I was already there and had just a few hours left in Milan. The Castello Sforzesco was lovely alternative though - they had a daVinci notebook on display and an unfinished Michelangelo Pieta - and I was the only person there at 9 a.m.!

Although I tried today to book for an August visit to the Last Supper, I was stumped too. (I even tried to book into December 2007 and couldn't. Do the resellers have them all?). Thanks to to everyone for the tip on making the phone call, which I'll do ASAP. I also really appreciated hearing about problems with 'false' reservation numbers!

I just tried to make reservations online, but online tickets are no longer available for Last Supper tix
at the site below

I'll be curious to see if reservations booked through
tickitaly are legit. It feels like you're paying about double the price for regular admission to the Last Supper using this ticket broker.

We just saw Last Supper June 5th. Like I said earlier, totally booked. Our reservation made through tickitaly worked perfectly. We did encounter a lady outside trying to sell two tickets she could not use, but we already had ours in hand. See my earlier post in this thread about booking on line for this venue. Get the audioguide.

Hi, could you please share the details of the unsuccessful confirmation? I've just booked a visit using the official website, and I've obtained a confirmation. I'm now a little worried, as there are no details, such as the number of people or date for the visit.

Or, if anyone has a successful email confirmation, could you share it as well?

Thanks!

We booked through the official website back in April (as soon as available-they only open a few months at a time)and it worked fine. We just went last Saturday and had no problems.

We did, however, have problems with Tickitaly. Originally I googled "last supper tickets" and Tickitaly was at the top of the results list. I saw that we could give them a few days range of when we'd like to go and they would respond within 3 business days with a confirmation or a declination email. So, I filled in the form and waited. I got an email saying they'd received my request and would contact me within the 3 days. It further stated that if I don't hear from them within the 3 business days I should contact them at the provided email link.

Well, 3 days go by. 7 days go by, and still no word. I am waiting on making hotel reservations everywhere until I know what days we'll be in Milan, and that hinges on when we can see The Last Supper. After the first 3 days I contact them and nothing. After 7 days it's the same thing.

Then I look in my Italy 2009 book and see the url for the official website. It appears that I will be able to make reservations online after March 28th. At this point it's March 17th and it's been 8 days since I tried to book with Tickitaly. I emailed them again and cancelled my ticket request citing that they did not confirm or deny my request within the 3 business days they assured they would; further that they've ignored my attempts to check on my request though I used the link they sent me for that purpose. Anyway, I get no response, but low and behold, on April 1st I get a confirmation from them for four tickets, but by that time I'd already booked off the official website.

They continued to ignore my emails until I put in an inquiry through the credit card I used. I got the charge reversed but it left a bad taste in my mouth and took more phone calls and emails than I had time for. The moral of this story is to consult your Italy, 2009 first!

Anne

Call the church directly. Last year, I tried to book a viewing date on line but, according to the website, there were no dates available for the week we were going to be in Milan. I then called the church directly and was immediately given an appointment.

Cool... Thanks Angelina and Lisa.

I've booked the tickets through the official website, as calling from Singapore to Italy is way to expensive. :)

Hope the confimation email that I've received from them will work.

I'm going there in August... hoping for the best!
