Booking taxis in Cinque Terre

We need to get from Corniglua to La Spezia early Sunday morning as there are no local trains till gone 8am and we need to be in Pisa by 8am. We are having trouble finding a service we can talk to. Has anyone done this and who did you use. Thanks. Marie

I am currently planning a trip that includes Cinque Terre. Have you checked to see if there is a bus? Have you checked with your inn? Often they are a good source. Also, check for uber/Lyft, private drivers?? There is a Cinque Terre website, its provided in RS guide. They might have info or a contact #.

Hi. It's a long way from Corniglia to Pisa - probably a two hour drive even if you could find somebody to take you. On weekdays, there are trains that could get you there easily. But on a Sunday, if I needed to be in Pisa by 8am, I would stay in Pisa the night before. Enjoy your trip!

Here is a website for a taxi service based in La Spezia:

http://www.radiotaxilaspezia.it

They show the fare from La Spezia to Cornelia is €70, but it could be more going the other way since they will have to come out to get you.

Personally, I would not be comfortable with this arrangement if I needed to be in Pisa at a specific time like 8 am. Is that for a flight? I would want to leave Cornelia the night before, and spend the night in La Spezia or Pisa.

mf,

What date are you looking at? According to the current Trenitalia schedules, there are trains on Sunday mornings from Corniglia as early as 06:31, arriving Pisa at 08:27. I used an arbitrary date of 23 July to check that. That may still be too late for you, but there are some early trains from Corniglia.

Thanks for all your helpful replies. Sadly the 6.31 out of Corneglia is weekdays only, which is the mistake we made and we have tried ringing and emailing La Spezia taxis but just get an electronic system which allows you to book a taxi for that day but we were put on hold and weren't able to speak to anyone. The bus and train service is really good, just not early on a Sunday! I just wondered if anyone had had a similar experience.

We have contacted our host (we are Air BnB) but not had a positive response. We ,may well go to Pisa and stay the night tomorrow.
So just a word of warning to those traveling on a Sunday in the Cinque Terre, that the train times do vary.

Thanks again
Marie

Sorry, but ken is right. Regionale 11361 departs from Corniglia to La Spezia Centrale any Sunday at 6:31.

Are you looking the schedules up on the official site? Are you using the right date format?

I'm seeing the same for a random date of Sunday, June 23rd. It won't get you to Pisa Centrale until 8:27 but definitely departs before 8:00 AM.

I am only checking time to Pisa Centrale and not La Spezia as Pisa is your final destination.

For this Sunday, tomorrow, the Regionale 11361 is running: (from Trenitalia website a few moments ago.)

06:31 Corniglia
06:34 06:35 Manarola
06:37 06:38 Riomaggiore
06:50 La Spezia Centrale

change to Regionale 23443

07:12 La Spezia Centrale
07:16 07:17 La Spezia Migliarina
07:20 07:21 Ca' Di Boschetti
07:25 07:26 Vezzano Ligure
07:32 07:33 Sarzana
07:37 07:38 Luni
07:42 07:43 Carrara-Avenza
07:49 07:50 Massa Centro
07:55 07:56 Forte Dei Marmi-Seravezza-Querceta
07:59 08:00 Pietrasanta
08:05 08:06 Camaiore Lido-Capezzano
08:09 08:10 Viareggio
08:20 08:21 Pisa S. Rossore
08:27 Pisa Centrale

Yes, it is after 8 on arrival. Don't know if that works for you - how critical is that 8 am in Pisa?

Good luck - whatever happens.
