Does anyone have experience using the Cross-pollinate booking service for private apartments or rooms?

Lots of great comments @ trip advisor.com. We always check out the user reviews of any place we want to stay by clicking on TA, and by just Googleing the name.

Thanks for your help! I have booked a room in Rome and an apartment in Paris for this summer thru them at very reasonable prices. They have been very helpful and prompt in answering my questions.

We used cross-pollinate for three properties last May. A private room near Castel Sant'Angelo, and apartment near Termini Station in Rome, and an apartment in Venice. I asked multiple questions about the places before booking and always found the service to be prompt in answering my questions. All the properties were all as described or better. The reservation process was easy, the booking deposits very reasonable and we even opted for the cancellation insurance which was 10 Euros per stay, just for a little added peace of mind. We used them to book an apartment in Rome in 2008. We were very happy with their services and the apartment they rented us. You do need to communicate with the owner of the place you rent and make sure you have arranged for them to be there when you arrive (many owners do not live on the premises) We made our arrangements before leaving home, and then called the owner the day before we arrived to verify everything. She was waiting for us when we got there (we never saw her again).
