Has anyone had any experience, good or bad, with booking a hotel in Rome with Chase travel points? Also, any specific hotel suggestions for only a 2 night visit?
What is your budget? I haven't booke Chase points, but this year I used Bonvoy points for an amazing hotel in Rome.
I haven’t booked in Rome with Chase points, but I have done this elsewhere and it worked fine. I don’t do it often because when I check the pricing available through Chase with points, it is usually cheaper to book direct and just take cash back or save points for airfare.
I have only stayed at the Hotel Smeraldo in Rome before. I liked it enough that I have booked it again for my trip next April. Clean, good location. Easy walk to many sites, bus stop and taxi stands not far away. Excellent pizza across the street and a grocery a block away.
Create a World of Hyatt account.
Transfer whatever amount of Chase points you need to your account.
Stay at either the Tribune JdV or now next year there'll be a Thompson and a Hyatt Regency (both will be brand new).
You'll get the most value for your points.
After a cruise, I spent one night at The Republic Hotel. It is near Termini, so it was easy to make connections via both train and metro.
I've only ever used Chase points for airfare, so I'm not sure how much choice you have for hotel locations.
