Booking Italo Family tickets online

Hi
I am in the midst of booking of Italo train tickets from Florence to Venice and came across the promotion for Italo family.
We have four pax travelling. Three adults and one child aged 13.

Prices per adult. Smart
Low cost. 19.90 euro
Italo family. 45.90 euro

It seems that in my case it’s cheaper to still book four tickets for each person as compared to Italo family? The rate of Italo family applies to each adult in the group right? Or is my understanding wrong? Thanks in advance.

Yes, when booking well ahead, the Smart fare and even the Economy can be lower than the Family rate, so you're free to choose it. Putting the Family rate into the shopping cart does give you a total of 137.70 for the three adults plus one free child, so it only becomes a good deal for your group when the other discounts sell out. For people with more kids, it might be a better deal.

Thanks a lot. I managed to book individual tickets instead as it turned out to be cheaper than the family promotion.
