Booking hotels/exchange rate

I'm looking to book hotels in Florence, Venice, and Rome for a June trip. Today, the exchange rate is good--$1.13 per Euro. If I book today, will I get the current exchange rate or whatever it is on the day I check in to the hotel?

It depends on how you book and the hotel's payment policy.

For example, if you book for example on Expedia and pay up front then you are done. On the other hand, if you reserve say directly with the hotel and are quoted in Euros, you may pay at the time of check out and depending on the prevailing exchange rate, you may end up paying more or less. Some hotels may give you better room rate if you pay all up front (in which case you lock in your rate of exchange, but may limit your right to cancel). You need to read th hotel policy.

No, you get the daily exchange rate the day you pay. Booking the hotel only books the room and Euro rate but the exchange rate doesn't kick in until actual use your credit card. It doesn't make a lot of difference because the exchange rate generally changes slowly. If booking 6, 9 months there could be some difference. But it can go both ways. Earlier this year the exchange was very close to even - in the range of a $1.05.
