Booking Doge's Secret Itineraries Tour Online vs. Phone?

Ha anyone booked the Secret Itineraries Tour through the call center listed in Rick's book? If so, how did it go? Do they e-mail you a voucher for the tour? You can book on-line which is handled by Vivaticket (which also handles Last Supper and Scrovegni Chapel tours) but to do this you have to set up a Vivaticket account which requires alot of personal information including a passport or driver's license number which does not appear to be in a secure part of the website. I am reluctant to do this.

Just did this last weekend. Booked online. You get past the line to the booth where you exchange your online voucher for a ticket. They want you to do it an hour before just to be safe. They show you where you meet your guide inside to the right. You come back at tour time and go through a per-reserved entrance to the meeting place. Tour was great! No waiting. Worked fine!! Also we booked Artviva gondola tour plus the st. Marks basilica tour right after. Very enjoyable. No waiting in any lines all weekend. Venice has ponderous lines for everything at st. Marks so these tricks were
Excellent time savers . And fun!! I highly recommend doing this

Elaine: Did you book thru the official website, palazzoducale.visitmuve.it? If you try to book on-line there, it actually goes to Vivaticket website for booking. If this is what you did, did you just use a driver's license # for the required id? It doesn't appear the personal info is in a "secure" part of the website so I don't want to use a passport #. I'm concerned about the security of using this website. I've already had my credit card info stolen a couple months after I was booking Italy hotels on the various hotels' supposedly secure websites. Has anyone had any problems using Vivaticket which is also the ticket vendor for the Last Supper and Scrovegni Chapel? Does anyone have experience booking by phone with them?
