I understand that to go July 4 from Milan to Aosta via bus I must pre-book a bus. I can only find websites in Italian!! Any help?? Also July 6 from Aosta to Montreux wish a scenic bus trip. Any suggeations??

http://www.savda.it/it/ Click on Tickets on the left panel. Tickets is "biglietti" in English. Just follow the prompts in English. Just remember that outside the US, including the UK, the date format is dd/mm/yyyy. The same bus company can take you from Aosta to Martigny. Then from Martigny you can take a bus or train to Montreux. I've never been on that route, so I can't say if it's scenic, however I haven't been anywhere in the Alps, whether in Italy or Switzerland, that wasn't scenic.
