Booking attractions in Florence the same day when arriving by train

Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forum, I've learned a lot from everyone from searching the topics.

I would like to get your suggestions on whether I should book tickets to museums in Florence the same day when we arrive by train from Rome. I've heard that sometimes trains can be delayed or the workers might go on strike.

We will arrive in Florence on a Thursday around 11:30 am in Florence, we plan to store our luggages near the train station and start exploring Florence. I've made reservations for Uffizi Museum on Friday. But I'm hesitant to purchase the Brunelleschi Pass and Accademia for Thursday afternoon, in case we don't arrive on time.

What have your experiences been? Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Thanks!

Yes you can book tickets for that day but allow a few hours between arrival and the ticket time. Trains can be delayed but usually 10-15 minutes (although I was 2 hours late in arriving in Florence this year from Bologna.... something happened on the track between Milan and Bologna. No guarantees but you should be fine for early afternoon to visit something.

Use Thursday just to get to know the city and learn your way around. Should be safe to make reservations for places on Friday.

The Brunelleschi Pass should be good for 3 days so you are definitely safe in booking that. If you are worried just book the Tower and Dome climb for a different day and spend the afternoon in all the rest of the stuff that doesn’t need a time to enter. Plenty to take up the whole afternoon going in the Baptistry, Duomo and museum.

Thank you everyone for your replies and suggestions. I plan to buy the Brunelleschi pass on the day we arrive in Florence, and book the Duomo climb later in the day. That way, I will have two other days to finish seeing the rest of the museums using the pass. Thanks again!

Does the pass allow unlimited access to the sites? I imagine not for the Dome considering the required reserved time.. Thanks!

Heard back from a human @ the Help Desk and like I suspected, it's not unlimited visits (I guess that would be a LOT more expensive). Still purchasing the pass, though.

Thank you Paige for confirming. I read the details on the website, looks like the first day of the pass has to be the day we reserve the Duomo climb.
