Booking airfare for the Sicily tour

Does anyone have any experience arranging flights in and out of Sicily? According to the tour description, we will want to fly into Palermo and out of Catania. We typically fly out of Boston, MA.

Thanks for any advice!

We took the Sicily tour last year. We flew to Munich a couple days before tour start to get over jet lag and see a few sites in Munich. Then we took an easy direct flight to Palermo on the morning of tour starting date. Likewise on day tour ended we flew from Catania back to Munich. If you first fly to a major city like Munich or Frankfurt or Rome and then book a separate ticket to Palermo you will save money and have more choices. Of course, I would never arrive and depart the major city on same day. Good luck. The Sicily tour is fabulous.

ITA has nonstop flights to Rome from Boston - they also fly to Palermo and Catania from Rome. So you may be able to book a multi-city ticket. A codeshare between Delta and ITA may also work.

I have arranged our flights for our trip this spring, but in reverse, into Catania and out of Palermo. Use any of the good search engines such as Kayak, google flights, etc. but choose what is usually called "multi city" , with Boston to Palermo and then Catania to Boston. And if you can be flexible on your days most of those search engines let you put in dates and plus or minus a few days to see the most options. Both cities in Sicily have a number of flights through European hubs. When you find flights you like then go to the actual airline website and book directly with that airline. For example for some random dates in September Kayak is showing flights on Swiss Air through Zurich, Delta through Rome, Lufthansa through Munich, ITA through Rome, etc.. I don't see any non-stops from Boston.
