I'm getting ready to book a hotel in Venice based on the Rick Steve's guide. It's one of the hotels that discounts shamelessly for advanced booking. On the site it says the price does not include City Tax (venice). What does that mean and how much more will it make my room? Has anyone ever done that? Erica

A few months ago Venice began imposing a hotel tax for the first 5 consecutive nights of hotel stays. You will probably be charged approximately 2 to 5 Euros per night, depending on the star rating of your hotel and the season. More info on the link below or you could try emailing the hotel directly.
