Booking a day guide in Southern Italy

We are traveling with a loose schedule towards Southern Italy. We would like to go to Naples and Pompeii. Due to our concerns about crime in that area, we would like to hire a guide once we get into Rome and know what our schedule is going to be.

I'm sure you'll receive some suggestions for guides but really, as long as you follow the general safety rules regarding your valuables, crime is nothing more to worry about in either place than anywhere else in Italy.
