Booked for April, but if we test positive for return flight ...

What is the drill? We'll test at the Rome airport and will be staying the night before the flight at the airport hotel.

How will the airline handle our ticket home? Where is the quarantine site? Meals while in isolation?

If anyone here has gone through the experience in Italy, what should we expect if we test positive on our way home?

Tip: A few hours before your real test (the one that counts), go get an inexpensive rapid antigen self-test and use it. It's not 100% accurate but it's reasonably good, and it's better to know going in if you are positive, rather than finding out at the last minute. It can give you a little peace of mind (or an early warning of bad news that may be coming). Antigen tests are widely available, cheap, easy and quick.

Take the antigen test before. We went to a pharmacy in Rome the day before we left for our departure test. The 15 minutes we waited for the test results were so nerve wrecking, when I got the negative results I could have kissed the pharmacist,
