Does anyone know if you book a guided tour of the Vatican, can you enter the museum before your scheduled tour? Our tour is at 2pm but now we are thinking we wont have enough time to see other areas that are not included after the tour ends.

They will only let you enter about 15 minutes before the start of the tour. You can re-enter the museums after the tour to visit rooms not covered on the tour as long as your tour doesn't include the basilica.

Once you leave the museums, you can't re-enter on the same ticket.
