We will be taking the ferry from Messina to Reggio Calabria mid September. Passengers only. Is it advisable to get tickets ahead of time. If so, how far in advance. We are not sure what day we would be leaving. Also, if we do have to purchase tickets ahead of time where do I do this?
Thank you for your knowledge
Lorie
Without a car, there really is no need to pre-book as there are ferries up to twice hourly each day. You can buy ferry tix at www.DirectFerries.com.
I agree that you shouldn't have to prebook other than the night before. But I would just book direct with the ferry company https://www.libertylines.it/en/strait-of-messina/
Thank you for the information. How long is the actual crossing when you leave Messina then arrive in Reggio Calabria? I don't understand some others said 30 minutes then 7 hours?
Thanks again,
Lorie
