Bonus day in Florence-what to do? Kids 11/13

Hi all- some of you may remember my trip had to get started a day late bc of flight cancellations. You were all so helpful when my plans were rearranged so I'm back! We added a day at the end in Florence to try to make up for our lost day at the front. Now we have 4 days/nights. After my tours were booked, etc, so now it's wide open. I've already planned: day 1 (1/2 day): uffizi tour, day 2: accademia am/ duomo pm, day 3: day trip to Pisa and Siena, day 4: ? It's a Monday and it may rain. What should we do? Open to things kids will enjoy too. Is another day trip too crazy? I'm ok with a lazy day but I'd like to do something fun.
Thanks!

Ps. We're leaving Cinque Terre for Florence today. What an amazing place!

How can you do Pisa and Siena on the same day? they are not in the same area.
Maybe you meant Lucca and Pisa.

I did not mean Lucca, although I'd like to go there too. If I had known we would have an extra day, I would have probably arranged things differently. The trip is through Viator. You can search Florence day trips and a few do Siena and Pisa, and San Gimignano as well. It's a full busy day but people seem to enjoy it.

How about going up to Fiesole? It overlooks Florence and has some good walking itineraries. Heck, you could hike back down into the city from up there if so inclined.

Reid's website has a suggested walking route (but don't necessarily use the site for hours of attractions):

Consider hiking through the Bardini gardens and/or the Pitti Palace gardens, these are next to each other and they are a nice alternative to being inside in museums. We spent an afternoon in the Bardini garden and at the top there is a cafe that offers an incredible view of Florence.

You might consider taking a day trip to Venice although this might be too much with kids. The train trip is 2 hours each way. Check out the rail Europe website if you are interested.
