Has anyone stayed in Riomaggiore at the B&B L'Arcobaleno? or in Bonassola at the Pensione Moderna? There are quads available in both for 140 euro. One has air conditioning. Is a/c important? We will be there at the end of June.
The towns are quite different--Bonassola is much less hilly and seemed less "touristy" than Riomaggiore. If you want to be in the midst of the Cinque Terre, choose Riomaggiore. Bonassola is quieter, smaller, and about 5 min (2+ Eu train ticket) beyond the limits of the CT pass. There are numerous trains to the town, but fewer than to the CT towns. The towns along the Italian Riviera tend to be cooler than those inland, but I would opt for a/c if that is a deciding factor. The price sounds reasonable.
