Bolzano—Panorama to Zallingerhutte hike? Have you done this? Doable?

The hike we are looking forward to is the Panorama to Zallingerhutte hike. The Rick Steves guidebook says to “allow 5 to 6 hours, including the lift from Compatsch, lift down to Saltria, and bus back to Compatsch“.

Our Rick Steves My Way Alpine Europe tour hotel is in Bolzano. The Rick Steve’s office told me there's a bus from Bolzano to Siusi (the last stop before Castelrotto) and that I can switch buses there to get to Compatsch. However, I don’t know the bus schedule, and how early, late, or frequently this bus runs.

I’ve heard that one can get stranded, if the lifts close. Does anyone know if the Panorama to Zallingerhutte hike can be done easily from Bolzano?

Yepper. Don't you know how to read a bus schedule?
Sorry, I am really dating myself now.
Its Bus #170 operating between Bolzano Bus Station and Castelrotto. Schedule is valid Dec 25, 2021 to Dec 10, 2022.

Reading down from top chart, shows the time it departs Bolzano Bus station and the time of each stop along the way as you read down. Left side column is in German, right side column is in Italian. "X" in a box indicates that column is M-Sat, no box is daily. The boxes that are half white/half black indicate M-F only. Towns below Castelrotto are continuation to Ponte Gardena and connections by train going northbound. Also shows the bus #172 to Ortisei. Top block is morning, middle block is afternoon, bottom block is evening. Page 2 is going the direction from Casterotto to Bolzano.

PS, Oh, and there is a sweet journey planner here.
