Bolzano-Bressanone-Monte Piana

Hello!

I will be traveling to Italy this October and will be staying in Bolzano for 3 days. I would love to take a day to travel to Bressanone and then go see Monte Piana. I am nervous about getting a car, and would like to avoid it if possible. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get to at least Monte Piana from Bolzano without a car? I know getting to and from Bressanone won't be too difficult.
If not, what is the parking like in Bressanone and Monte Piana? Are there many places to park for day-visitors?

Thank you!

To get to Monte Piana, train from Bolzano to Fortezza (passing through Bressanone) and changing to a train to Dobbiaco, where you get the 445 bus going direction Cortina d'Ampezzo. Get off at Dreizinnenblick Hotel or Duerrensee Hotel. That will be Monte Piana on your left.

Buses are about every 2 hours with a 3 hour gap at lunchtime. Probably best to go to Monte Piana first as the trains and buses are all coordinated. There is a bike trail parallel to the road between Dobbiaco and Cortina, so waling the valley should be easy. You can stop in Bressanone on the way back.
