Bologna to Rimini train?

Training from Bologna to Rimini next week. Best suggestions for on line tickets, and is there only one station in Rimini? Thanks form Canada!

I trained from Ravenna to Rimini in May. The station name is simply "Rimini." I had the Trenitalia app on my phone, and I used that to buy my train tickets. When asked, I showed my ticket - the QR code - on my phone to a conductor.

You can also buy tickets from Trenitalia's website and print them out. But, most likely, from Bologna, you'll be taking a regional train, so if you don't use your phone like I did, I'd just buy them at the Bologna station from a ticket machine or an agent. Regional tickets cost the same at the last minute as they do ahead of time (no reserved seats, can't sell out), so there's no advantage in buying them early. There are Frecciabianca and InterCity trains that are a little faster but cost more. Up to you whether you want to pay more to get there 20-30 minutes faster. I wouldn't.

Remember that regional train tickets - paper tickets - purchased at the station MUST be validated BEFORE you get on the train! Stamp them in the yellow boxes outside the platforms in Bologna. Otherwise, you risk a steep fine if caught without a validated ticket, even if you just bought the ticket right before you got on the train.

Go to the Trenitalia website for more info on schedules. There is an English option.
