Bologna to Cinque terre

Taking a regional train which would be the better choice....Bologna, Florence and CT or Bologna, Parma and CT?

Via Parma.
One less train change (just one in Parma and one in La Spezia), less money and just as fast.

Hi Jo. In order to answer, we would need to know what you mean by 'better'. Are you looking to stop along the way? See trenitalia.com for all the options. Because of geography and slow regional trains, it's a 3-4 hour trip either way, even though it's not very far as the crow flies. Enjoy your trip!

Thank you both for quick reply. I hope this doesn't make a difference, by rights I should ask "San Marino to Ct" , I assumed
we had to get to Bologa first but we will be leaving from San Marino

Traveling on Sat Sept 13. We really have to check this out, I understand that there may be less trains on the weekend.

Best option:
Leaving Rimini at 10:41. Change in Parma and La Spezia. Arrival at Vernazza at 16:16.
There are regular buses from San Marino to Rimini station. Maybe a 45 min. run.

Thanks again I was hoping the Parma route would be the one since we're never been there
