Anyone have any recent information on the current conditions in Bologna. We leave for Italy next Wednesday and will be traveling by train from Mestre Venice train station to Bologna Centrale. It appears all the trains on this route are running. However, most of the information I have viewed online says that Bologna has been affected but does not indicate how bad.
You will be fine. We traveled by train from Milan, then to Modena and then to Bologna this week. Both Modena and Bologna proper city limits are unaffected by the flood. The trains are still not running past Bologna Centrale and no one knows when those routes will return. The flooding past Bologna is very sad to hear locals discuss. I cannot speak for anything related to Venice though. But Bologna is operating as normal! Enjoy your trip!
Thanks for your reply. You have confirmed what we have gathered from the Italian news and other sources. It is good to have information from someone who is actually there. It is sad to learn of the hardships of the many beautiful towns in Italy. We have never been to Ravena but, we had planned on a day trip this time. Alas, we can only hope that they will recover and we can visit in the near future.
