I'm going to be flying into Verona and have a week to spend in northern Italy before I catch a train out of Venice to Slovenia. I'm looking to visit some places in northern Italy that I have not been to before.
I have been to Italy a number of times (about 10 weeks total) and have previously visited Milan, Como, Varenna, Kastleruth, Padua, Verona, Ravenna, and Venice in this area.
I will be taking public transportation. I have been considering Bologna, Parma, Vicenza, Mantova, and towns on Lago di Garda as possibilities (Please note that I don't plan to visit all of these places in a week, I'm trying to narrow down my options). If you have been to any of these places or if you have other suggestions, I would like to hear them. I'd like to know what you enjoyed, any hotel recommendations, etc. I will be traveling in early May.
Thanks!
