Bologna one night stays

Any suggestion for an overnight stay in Bologna for the beginning and end of a trip? We fly in, overnight in Bologna, catch a train to Rimini the following day,and the reverse 9 days later.
Thank you from a west coast Canadian...John

Look at Hotel Swiss Elite. The city bus stops nearby (can transfer to the city bus at the train station from the airport bus.) If you have a car, there is parking near the hotel. Also, the walk into the main historical center is relatively close. Breakfast is included; staff very helpful.

Thanks Becky...would that be the Hotel Suite Elite?

Yes, that was the hotel we stayed at the last night. It is a walk into the city center, but we had had a car the last day and we wanted to be able to park easily. The hotel is dated but very friendly and fine.

I've stayed at the Hotel Mercure Bologna Centro which is directly opposite the station. It was snowing at the time and the little park visible from the windows of the rooms on the back was beautiful in the snow and the lights.

The breakfast was good (extra at a Mercure, of course, but as I remember it a good value), very convenient to the station, not too far to walk into the centre (but don't be fooled by the "Centro" in the name because the station is a university away from the centre), and unless they have changed things around the last stop for the bus from the airport, and the last stop to the airport is across the street at the station. I know that sounds confusing but it was (is?) true. The bus made a loop from the airport to the old city centre, then up past the university and had its final stop at the station. The same bus then continues straight back to the airport (not very far out of town) and does it all again, with a layover at the airport between trips.

I'm considering a vrbo for one night in Bologna next summer. They are very reasonably priced and seem to have very good reviews.
