Hello,
I looking for recommendations for the best place to stay in or around Bologna the night before a 6 am flight back to the U.S. from the Bologna airport. I want to stay somewhere that I can easily and quickly get to the airport for my early morning flight.

At that time (around 4am) you need a taxi to go to the airport, but you have no traffic problem. Any hotel in the northern part of Bologna is OK, but you can stay even in the historical center not far from the train station, so the day before you can go out for a dinner without further problems. Check the "I Portici" hotel, or someone else in the same area.

I just stay in the city center and take the taxi to the airport. You won't have a problem. Any hotel within the ring road is fine and you can enjoy the city the day before.

We stayed in central Bologna and took a taxi to the airport for our 6:30 flight. Quick and easy! The airport didn't open for check in until 5; you may want contact your airline to verify opening time before you reserve your taxi.
