We had to change our travel plans on the arrival city in Italy due to lack of flights. We found one going to Bologna but arriving at 9pm.I do not know this city or how handy it is.We were suposed to drive to Siena upon arrival but we may have to stay the night in Bologna due to the late time.Anyone with any advise or knows where to stay (close to airport) would greatly be appreciated.

Bologna Airport is very,very close to the cinter of Bologna. Go to Hotels.com and you'll find one just right for your issues.

I would say you would be best to stay the night in Bologna. Try to book a hotel near where you will be collecting your car and avoid a hotel in the historic centre of town. It is lovely but full of really narrow one way streets and quite hard to navigate if you are not familiar with the city.
