Does anyone have any information regarding this festival or know where I might be able to find some? It appears the festival is only on October 4th this year, but in the past it is several days. I tried contacting someone through Facebook, but haven't heard back. Would love to attend this festival but the time frame for our trip won't allow it if it's only on October 4th. :-(

Tina, I’d known nothing about the festival, until I saw your post. That prompted me to do a little Internet searching, and it looks like the dates have definitely varied over the past several years. Maybe you’ve already seen these through your searching, but I’ve attached 2 links. The first one says 2021, and the second is a link that was at the bottom of that first Webpage, and seems to only be in Italian. That says it was a 3-day event, Oct. 2 thru 4, but after looking at it for some time, I realized it said it was the 22nd edition of the festival, and says 2020! So the festival itself hasn’t updated its Website for 2021 - that makes me wonder whether it’s happening at all?!?

Hi Tina, I'm also looking into the Boccaccesca Festival since we'll be in the area Oct 2 -8. Can't find much info but did you notice the Viareggio Carnival? This will be very special because normally it's in Feb but was rescheduled new dates Sept 18 - Oct 9. We're planning on taking the direct train from Florence to Viareggio for a day. Another week long wine festival is in Desenzano by Lake Garda Sept - Oct 4.

Thank you for your reply. Thank you for the links, yes those are the ones I was looking at as well but I did find one mentions Monday, October 4. Well, it’s not really link; more of a mention. And October 4th is a Monday this year, so I was wondering if it would be that weekend? I emailed the Facebook page and also the visitor information center in Certaldo, but haven’t heard back. I can’t imagine they would have had the festival last year but not this year? Crossing my fingers! Maybe I’ll see you there!

Hi Jo! Thank you for your reply!!! I did notice the Viareggio Carnival, but we’ll be heading South as soon as we leave Tuscany, so unfortunately the carnival is not an option. I did see the wine festival in Desenzano and I think we might try to hit that one as well. Thank you so much for your input on this and I’ll keep my eyes peeled for any other events around Certaldo. It looks like the Boccaccesca Festival will be October 15-17 this year. Unfortunately we will not be in the area during that time, but hopefully you will be able to attend!
