Boat tours to Amalfi coast from cruise ship anchored in sorrento

Hi .. my husband and I are taking an Oceania cruise in May 2020. One of our port stops is in Sorrento. We would love to find a reputable boat tour to the Amalfi coast , one which would get us back to our ship on time. Any suggestions?

I'm assuming you will be tendered into the Sorrento port. Not knowing your approximate arrival and departure times, you might be able to do this. From Sorrento you can catch a ferry for Positano, make a stop then either back to the ferry dock to Amalfi or bus to Amalfi. Then return ferry to Sorrento. Here are the ferry schedules. Times will probably not be posted until after the first of the year.

Be sure to look at return times.

We will be arriving in Cinq Terre April 27th 2020, and leaving May 2nd. Will most things like shops restaurants and cafes be open during that time.? What about in Liberation day?

You don't say where you plan to be on that one (April 25th). Your bigger issue, IMHO, is Labor Day on May 1. It's on a Saturday, and Cinque Terre crowds, dense on Labor Day to begin with, promise to be really nasty as it falls on the weekend. As Liberation Day falls on the weekend before, the entire week between and including the 2 holidays will likely be extremely busy. The standard advice from local intelligence is to avoid the CT on holidays but I assume you've already booked your accommodations?

There are some pix here of what the CT Vernazza crowds looked like during the Easter holiday 2 years ago (scroll down to the photos):

Some very recent advice from Rick regarding managing crowds in the CT:

I see you've booked 5 nights in the CT? That's quite a lot if you aren't intending on exploring the trails. Conditioned hikers can get around the mob by getting out of the villages and trekking the lesser-used routes but a fair amount of those are going to be pretty strenuous.

We will be arriving in Rome in April 23rd 2020 and leaving for Cinque Terre on April 27th via trains.. what will it be like in Rome on Liberation day.. what will it be like on May 1st in CT? Is it dangerous travelling on the trains April 27th for CT and travelling May 2nd to Florence by train.. and then renting a car to head out to Tuscany? I’m concerned
