Hello can you recommend a boat tour - for adults plus toddlers - we dont want to charter a boat - that includes Portofino and some other islands./stops -- we are based in Rapallo.

Not a boat tour, just the ferry. Train to levanto.

You can easily enjoy a circumnavigation of the entire Portofino peninsula by boat starting from Rapallo. Take the train to Camogli, a trip of a few minutes. After exploring that excellent Ligurian treasure, take the ferry to San Fruttuoso on the Blue line of Golfo Paradiso ferries: https://www.golfoparadiso.it/en/tourist-lines/#camogli---san-fruttuoso After enjoying the monastery and its beach, take the SMT Line 1 ferry back to Rapallo which has stops at Portofino and Santa Margarita: https://traghettiportofino.it/en/lines-trips/line-1/#ad-image-0
While in Rapallo, don't miss the cable car up to the Sanctuary of Monte Allegro with its stunning views. The funivia departs from a base near the train station. Btw any other tips for the region are welcomed. We are trying to avoid the heavily touristy towns of CT

Just down the coast is Chiavari, our favorite Ligurian city. Wonderful classic historic center with a vibrant food market in the center (mornings). There's a beach / marina area with different attractions and a scenic walkway for strolling. There's a nifty playground for kids https://parcogiochitalassano.business.site/ .
