Boat rental - Sorrento

Has anyone here rented a boat (on your own) in Sorrento, for the day, and toured around the Capri/Amalfi coastline? Thank you for any feedback and/or tips.

No personal experience, but have ferried to Capri from Sorrento twice. I'm not a boater, but large ferry trips are often cancelled because of wave height. It is uncommon for the commercial ferries to have open deck seats or operable windows. This is a substantial distance in the open sea, especially if you go both ways (AC and Capri.) Don't count on landing without a fee, both the AC and Capri have very, very crowded marinas. Note that there are very few beaches in any of these destinations, and none of them would permit boat pull-ups, too small crowded. Capri, in particular, has mostly sheer cliffs.

Month of the year is significant for any questions about this area.

We have rented our own boat from Banana Boats on Capri many times, they are great. Reasonably priced for a nice boat and the fun experience. There is at least one nice beach on Capri that you can only get to by boat or hiking. But it’s fun to just drive around Capri, stopping wherever, and go swimming. The boat is super comfortable with a large sun canopy and lots of cushioned seating. My son and his friends rented one there for the day just this past June.

I feel like such a fool. I dismissed a barefoot rental in Sorrento, thinking I'd take it around Capri and back. The cost was crazy expensive. For some reason, I never considered renting on Capri. May I ask an approximate total cost for the day including fuel?
