I googled "boat rental venice" and gots lots of hits. Have you tried that?

thanks for your suggestion - I tried that but found nothing of value - large live - aboard- boats were mainly offered. we already have accommodation and need a 10-15ft boat to go on the canals and the lagoon to do research for my husband's work. it just mentioned going to the tourist office when you get there to book a boat - I would like to check out prices and availability in advance since we are only there for 6 days.
