Any recommendations for a good little bnb with breakfast close to theMilan Central train station in Milan for one night? Grazi
Which station? Milan has 23 train stations.
Half of The airport trains to MXP depart from Milano Nord Cadorna, the other half from Milano Centrale. The route from Cadorna is shorter.
Haha! Good point! Milan Central
I know a great hotel that meets the need well, but it isn't a b and b, Good luck. Let us know what you find please
Will do! I would be curious to know about the hotel too
I suspect Nigel means the Hotel Berna, a 5 minute walk from Centrale. We always stay there, often for one night between disparate locations. Reasonably priced with an amazing breakfast.
I stayed at Hotel Berna, too. While I liked the Hotel, as expected the area around Milano Centrale was almost deserted after 9 pm.
Together with the shorter train ride, that's the reason I always depart to MXP from Cadorna station .
Another satisfied Hotel Berna customer here. I was there 3 or 4 nights before my flight back to the States from Milan.
I'm not a late night person, so I don't remember going out to dinner in the area at a time when it seemed deserted. I was traveling solo, so I surely would have noticed that.
As others mentioned, the buffet breakfast was great. One surprise about my room was that it had a little fridge, highly unusual in Italy. A better surprise was that they had room service. I don't know where it came from, but one night I got a hamburger with all the trimmings from the room service menu and it was great.
Yes, the Berna.
There is a lovely restaurant down the street from the Berna, Mamma Rosa. Yes, it is a quiet ‘hood but I have always felt safe there, even walking alone at night whenI was there on business.
