Has anyone ever flown within Europe on Blue Express? The flights from Rome to Catania, Sicily are about half the price of Alitalia. Excessive baggage fees or any complaints?

Donna, I have posted an Easyjet solution on one of your other posts to go from Rome to Palermo. Blue Express and Easyjet are budget airlines. You book early and you get great fares. But, all budget airlines have special fees that they charge for large and/or overweight luggage. Carry on luggage is also restricted. That's the way they work. If you want all of the nice stuff on an airline, you'll need to fly Alitalia. It's a big difference between nice and budget.

I flew them from Nice to Rome return. They are a small airline so if there are any problems with equipment you may have to put up with a long delay - happened to me from Nice to Rome. There was a 5 hour delay but we got there. No problems on the return flight. They've been around quite a few years and also fly long distance flights like Italy to Cuba. They are quite strict with carry on luggage. I would fly them again.
