I have read the phone use in Italy Grafitti Wall. However, it doesnt answer my Blackberry question, so I started this thread. I am a BB addict. Today I stopped into AT&T based on the other thread to find out what i need to do. I am a data hog, and they offer a 50GB data package for $100 plus the $5.99 international service. I questioned why there was an additional charge for the international data -- they say due to roaming. They said that I would be charged as long as my BB was recieving emails (I have the push service) as well as being able to cruise the web. Seems that 5 yrs ago in Italy and 3 yrs ago in India, I was not charged for the data service, but I guess they caught on.
Now for the questions -- does anyone know how the Italian SIM cards work relative to data packages and internet service in a BB? Has anyone gotten their BB Bold unlocked with AT&T? Are there stores in hte Florence Airport (FLR) that sell SIM cards for a BB? Any and all BB comments welcome (except those saying get an Iphone - LOL).
