Bistecca alla Fiorentina Question

Hi, we will probably be eating Bistecca Fiorentina on one of our nights in Florence. Looking for some insight as to the cost. The restaurant menu states: "Minimum cut 1 Kilo (2.2 lbs) 6 Euro/Hg".

What is the total price in euros based on the above and is this an average cost for downtown Florence?

Thanks!

1 Kg = 10 hg, so the cost for 1Kg is 60€.
The average cost is around 50€/Kg, so 60€ is only a little higher. Depends even by the race of the cow: if it's "chianina" is usually more expensive, like 60/70€/Kg.

It's not that expensive if you share it.
There is no way one person can eat a 1kg bistecca and not need a tow truck (and an ambulance) to walk out of the restaurant..
A 1kg bistecca will easily feed 4 people or at least 3 if they are major huge eaters.
Regarding the breed of the cow, if it's not a 'Chianina' (pron. Kia-NEE-na), it's not a Fiorentina.

We had bistecca in Florence. It was about 60 euro for the three of us and we couldn’t eat it all…gave the remainder to the poor college students, albeit Harvard students, beside us. Just trust your waiter.

Unfortunately, it is just my husband and I - therefore we will have abundant leftovers. Perhaps some Italian dogs are going to make out really well!
