Birthday suggestions for student/son in Florence

Having receieved great suggestions in the past for myself...I was wondering if any recent travelers to Florence have a suggestion of a food tour or restaurant recommendation for a group of 21 year olds. My son is there studying abroad and turning 21. Thought we could send him and some friends out for some fun, aside from what is likely already planned:) Thank you!

Mixed group of kids that arrived 3 weeks ago for school until December. Due to mixed group there will be mixed interest, but they are all still learning the area and exposing themselves to Italy. He has been hanging out with diffent groups of kids so I think it will be 4-8 depending on availability. Once I tell him what we want to do I will have a better idea of number based on what group he wants to join. I can set a limit. When in Rome...(or Florence)...they enjoy wine. I am flexible on price knowing its differnet for dinner or tour. Around 100 a head???

My thought would be a good pizza place. I can recommend a high-end restaurant, but for college kids, high end pizza with good wine and a great location might be the best. I was given the recommendation of

How will you get the money to them?

From a Florentine native, here is his recommendation:

But his favorite part about Florence was just walking around and discovering unique places/restaurants.

We actually did not find Florence hugely expensive. We went to a restaurant mentioned in Michelin, Restaurant Zeb, on Sun afternoon. We had 4 glasses of wine, primi, secondi, shared dessert - 120 E for 2.

Thank you for the recommendation @Paul-of-the-Frozen-North we plan to have him pay with his CC and then put money in his account to reimburse. Unfortunately Google says the location is permently closed and their instagram has not posted since December. Too bad it looks amazing.

Most 21 yr olds are very social media savvy where there will be tons of info for his age-group of where to eat, where to go, “experiences” options, good clubs, what to do in Florence. Reddit alone has a great travel/countries section that’s super popular for his age group with great suggestions and info for him. I’d just send him money for 8 people to go have dinner together and a club after dinner… 100 per person will pay for a lot of fun. I’d let him figure out where to go and what to do.

Susan made a very good point about letting him and his friends decide where to go and what to do. Planning one's own 21st birthday celebration and not having to worry about the cost --- priceless!
