I read about an area in Lido where you can find birds at tidal pools. Does anyone know about it and is it easy to find?
Hi, I did not find anything specifically on the Lido, but here is a site listing persons in Italy who are interested in taking visitors birding: http://www.birdingpal.org/Italy.htm
You may or may not wish to go with a local, but I bet some of these people (esp. the one from the Veneto) would be able to answer your questions.
My wife and I love birding in Europe. BTW in case you did not know, the Collins Bird Guide, a fantastic field guide (but 30 ounces+ in paper) is available as a truly excellent iPad/smartphone app.
Have a great trip!
Oh gosh, it would be fun to do a birding tour there!
I don't know if you have been to Venice before, but if not also try walking to the east (or maybe it is more SE??) end of Venice to the Parco della Rimembranze where there is some green space. I was not a birder when I went last year, but it was definitely nice to see some trees and grass. This is a link to it on googlemaps.
Thanks so much for the great suggestions. I can't wait!
