We'll be spending a week, roughly, each in Cortona and Siena in October and would like to do some birdwatching. Any recommendations on guides and/or spots to pick up some migrants or local specialties? Any tips much appreciated. We will have our own rental car. Thanks -
The "Birding Pal" program is worth a look: http://birdingpal.org/Italy.htm
Also, if you google "Birding Tuscany" a lot of useful-looking sites pop up.
I have never found that Birdingpals works effectively. I presume that you have already looked at cloudbirders.com? That’s my first port of call for any new birding areas as it offers ideas of places to go and guides used.
