Biking in Tuscany

Can anyone recommend a one day biking excursion/tour they did through the Chianti region or any place scenic in the Tuscany/Umbria region? We have explored the area by car and our friends would like to bike a day when they travel with us next June. They bike 25 miles without flinching, but it is their first time to Italy and I wanted a great experience. Right now, I have numerous websites but I would like someone's actual experiences if they would share !!

My wife and I were in Florence last summer and did I Bike Italy. They have many different rides for many different skill levels. We did the bike trip/winery tour because while I was used to doing 50 mile rides my wife was not. The tour was very professionally run and a lot of fun. One of our favorite experiences last year. Carla, I'm sorry, I double checked and it was I Bike Tuscany not I Bike Italy.

http://tuscany-biketours.com/ We went with this company in 2008, My daughter just did it this last month as well. We really enjoyed the people, tour, and the whole experience. The ride was mostly level with one big hill. You can throw your bike on the trailer and ride up in the van for that hill if you prefer. It included a wonderful lunch, a tour of the castle and wine and olive oil tasting. They gave us water bottles that we got to keep and every time we ride our bikes here at home, the water bottles bring back great memories. Highly recommend them.

Carla - My wife and I have done 6-day self-guided tours through both Tuscany and Umbria using www.cicloposse.com They offer one day rides around Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Chianti, and Cortona. A word of warning - very few flat spots so be ready to go "uppa and downa."
