Biking Alpa Di Suisi

Has anyone done this? Renting E-Bikes to ride around Alap Di Suisi?

I'm mostly trying to figure out the logistics. What are some good places to plan to ride to since we should be able to cover a good amount of ground? Should be pick up the bikes in Ortesei (we are staying at a hotel near the gondola) and haul them up or rent them up at the top of the gondola somewhere?

Is this something we would need to book in advance?

We have biked up there twice, once with bikes we rented in Ortesei and took up on the Mont Seuc lift, and once with bikes we rented in Compatsch (we were stayin in a hotel there). It is a beautiful place to bike!

I don’t recall if there is a bike rental at the top lift station, so if you cannot confirm that you might be safer to rent in Ortesei and take them up.

We were in Ortesei in May and LOVED it!! We took the gondola up Col Reiser and Mont Seuc (same as Alpa di Suisa) and don;t recall seeing any bike rentals up on either of those mountains. GLORIOUS area!!

But you will see charging station for e-bikes at many of the mountain restaurants.

We did e-bikes up there. We rented in Ortisei at the bike shop at the bottom of the gondola. They gave us a map and route.

We had teens and they LOVED it. If it was just me and DH I think we would have strongly preferred a path that did not simply alternate between 45 degrees up and 45 degrees down. :) it was a great time though. I also don’t recall seeing a rental spot up top. There did appear to be other rental spots in Ortisei besides the gondola one though.

Definitely keep the helmets on. We had a near catastrophe and saw someone else also pitch headfirst over the handlebar. Bring band aids and stuff as it is likely you will need them or you will see someone else who does.
